What is the youngest age you can take the GED?
In most states and jurisdictions, anyone who is 18 years of age or older is eligible to take the general education development test or the GED high school equivalence test. It is not recommended to drop out as it holds you back in your studies and puts you at a disadvantage when trying to find employment as an adult. If you are a minor but feel that participating in GED is an important step in your education, there are options available. If you feel like you’re lagging behind in school at age 15 or not enjoying it, use summer school at your local high school.
